What Dr. Robb's patients are saying about their work together...

After twelve years of traditional talk therapy and trying a variety of medications, I had almost given up on finding the help I needed, thus giving up on myself. I resolved to make one final attempt and found a doctor a few blocks from my home. I decided if it didn't work out with this doctor, then at least I could enjoy a nice walk home.

My first homework assignment was to read The Mood Cure. As an avid reader, I was excited about the book but also skeptical. If it was as simple as assessing my diet and the correlation of food and mental well being, what were those previous twelve years of therapy for? I read the book and began thinking, "this is too good to be true." My second homework assignment was to start changing my diet-- based on an assessment between myself and Dr. Robb-- and within a day things improved... radically. I have continued with nutritional therapy along with some talk therapy for several weeks now. My life is absent of the stressors I experienced for twelve years. I am free from anxiety attacks, depression, mood swings, feelings of despair/suicide, and my sleep patterns are more balanced. Nutritional therapy isn't out to discredit psychology or the work of pharmacology, but to provide a natural, alternative modality that has proven, immediate results without the negative side effects.

I was looking for a way to get off Lexapro, but was rather frightened at the same time. Transitioning to L-tryptophan and 5-HTP while cutting back on the Lexapro made it possible. I could hardly believe that I was actually feeling happy and "normal" without a drug. It's rather amazing that for the first time in my life, I was not depressed. And I realized that the years on Lexapro were "dead" years, as if I weren't really feeling anything, and consequently not dealing with the problems at hand. Now I feel "well" and able to face life's difficulties, even major challenges such as grief, without falling apart

I am 18 years old and have had a sleeping disorder since kindergarten. I have been on every prescription sleep aide under the sun. They either worked for a little and then my doctor would have to up the dosage until it was up so high that I couldn't take it any more, or, I could only be on it for a little while for risk of dependency. I was having difficulty in school mainly because I was staying up till 1 or 2 in the morning, or, on really bad nights 3 or 4 in the morning. I had to go to school some days with as little as 3 or 4 hours of sleep. I went to Dr. Robb and she gave me L-Tryptophan. Almost immediately I noticed an effect. I stayed on it for about 4 months regularly, and then started to take as needed. I do not take it on a regular basis any more because I have found that unlike all the prescription medicines on the market that just mask the problem, L-Tryptophan solved the problem. The thing I like best about amino acid therapy is that you don't need to worry about a mile long list of side affects and it's a lot cheaper then prescription medicine. I now swear by L-Tryptophan and will not ever take any prescription sleep aides ever again!

Since seeing Dr. Robb and taking nutritional supplements, specifically amino acids, I am less affected during the day by the moods of others. I am still energetic by 5pm and able to transition from a typical high stress day at the office into calm evening, without dependence on recreational drugs.

I discovered the miracle of amino acid therapy for my mood disorder under the guidance of Dr. Robb. Using nutrition and psychotherapy, I am conquering problems that have plagued me my entire adult life without the use of drugs. I understand brain chemistry better and I feel empowered, making changes to my lifestyle that have complemented the use of supplements. It just makes sense that the brain needs specific kinds of nutritional support.
